My Temple Day

I was just able to go through the temple at 7:30 p.m., and it was amazing. Before I went there, I had to pack super fast and sped over to Cami's mission call opening in my suit and flip flops and by the time I arrived at the temple, I felt stressed and overwhelmed. As I entered the temple with my family, I felt darkness. I talked to my dad about it while we were changing, and ended up saying a prayer for comfort and peace right there in the changing stall. As I walked out, one of the temple workers checked in with me and right as I was about to explain how I was feeling, we walked past a painting of Joseph Smith, and I realized that even in the sacred grove or garden of Eden, adversity and darkness are present. I then said another prayer with the temple president and my dad and prayed for the ministering of angels and for the people who are not, at this time, worthy to enter the House of the Lord. I also gave thanks that we could be on the earth at a time when the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored, and we have temples to go to. I felt the Spirit as the law of consecration was described, as well as when I entered the Celestial room with my family. It was a sweet experience to be there with them all and picture a future with all of us eternally together in heaven.
