Choose To Obey

Pozdrav svima!

Tuesday we all came to Zagreb for transfers but a lot of the trainees got stuck in Frankfurt so we didn’t get to meet very many of them until the next day. Wednesday morning we showed up at the palace in the morning and after a quick meeting with the new trainees we got our assignments and left for our cities!

My companion for the next transfer is Elder Childs from good old St. George Utah. He’s a great guy; football and basketball player, loves boating, and also has some skills on the piano. Most importantly, he’s really driven and we’ve been working hard all week! We’ve had some cool miracles as we prepare to start our English classes on Wednesday; meeting some Polish guitarists that want to come jam at the church, a lady who lives under the senior apartment, and a bunch of high school kids at a service project who want to pick up some English! (see how that goes in a couple days) We’re having a great time in Rijeka trying to make new foods and try new ideas (lots of laughs haha)

Often in the Book of Mormon, I read the invitation to “keep the commandments”,”or in other words, “be obedient”. Obedience is the first law of heaven, and is prerequisite to receiving any other blessings or revelation. As I thought this week about the type of trainer I wanted to be, I realized it was most important that I be obedient. As we first obey, often without knowing the why, God has promised to bless us. It is a simple lesson I wanted to share this week, but so important. Always choose first to obey, and then God will provide a way.

P.S. the infamous freezing wind "bura", has begun here in Rijeka and its CRAZY!! Pulled out the big winter coat so get ready for lots of pictures in that.
