First Promptings

Well we started off this week with 20+ referalls via our city Facebook pages, but most of them ended up being friends who put their information down for us to contact them (bit of a let down). BUT some of those random people we contacted ended up being interested so we will be teaching them this week!

After a lot of social media finding, we ended this week with a discussion with one of our progressing people, a new convert, the converts Muslim friend, and his professor of religion. It was crazy! We all read from the Book of Mormon and Bible and had a spirit-filled conversation about faith and God's plan for us. I can testify that the Spirit truly unites people of all faiths when we can sit down with love and respect for one another. It was a beautiful experience.

For this spiritual thought, I wanted to share a quick story about following first-promptings. A few weeks ago we were walking across a bridge in Podgorica when we heard a young couple speaking English walking other direction. We kept walking, and then we stopped and felt prompted to talk to them. After hesitating for a second (because they were halfway across the bridge by now), we ran after them and, out of breath, very casually asked them about their English haha. It was pretty uncomfortable at first (seeing as we had just chased them across a bridge), but we ended up becoming friends and learning about some service organizations we could work with. And we went on our way, happy we had acted. Fast forward a few weeks and we get a text out of the blue that the girl is trying to find truth and understand her faith! And she wants to meet with us to learn more!

The point of the story: Do not ignore first promptings. They almost always come from the Spirit, and even if they don't, ACT! "A positive thought is from God until proven otherwise." You never know the lives you might touch when you listen to His voice. Pray for promptings, promise God you will act, and then prove it to Him. He will trust you with more and more, and you will see His hand in your life.
