Christmas Sacrament Meeting

Pozdrav!

This week we did lots of service at DIP (non-profit special needs organization) which is always an amazing experience spending time with them. We also did a lot of "contacting" to advertise for the Christmas concert. This was hilarious because we still arent allowed to street contact here so we would have to try to start up normal conversations with random people and then wrap it up inviting them to the concert. So many funny moments attempting that haha

Highlight of the week was yesterday, I still get so stoked every time I think about that Christmas sacrament meeting. We had 20 people! This is pretty much unheard of except for baptisms and the Spirit was very strong all meeting. They all read parts and I got to organize all the music for the program! The father and mother of Viktor (blind kid from barber shop) also came for the first time and had a good experience which was an answer to much fasting in prayer. And I saw the members step up and do so much service and missionary work for each other and the visitors! All in all, it was a day full of miracles and we finished it off learning how to make burek from one of our members and then having a big dinner outside in the park before the concert. What a day :) I have never been happier.

Spiritual thought:

In John 9, when asked by the disciples about the reason for a man's blindness, Jesus answered, "Neither hath this man sinned...but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." I often see shortcomings, weaknesses, or "flaws" as something negative that holds us back. Both in myself and in others. For example, if someone struggles with a problem that holds them back from baptism. But, as Christ taught, these weakness actually give them an opportunity to use the Atonement and gain a personal witness of God. Truly, our so-called flaws can be gifts that allow us to grow closer to our Savior IF we choose to turn to Him. If we open ourselves, repent, and submit to His will for us.
