"Is Anything Too Hard For The Lord?"
"Is anything too hard for the Lord?"
President Field asked us this question a few weeks ago and these past few days have strengthened my answer:
There has been a lot of preparation during the past 6 weeks of this transfer; both towards R&R for Elder Saunders and for our goals we want to accomplish here in Zadar. Tuesday and Wednesday saw Elder Saunders and I in Zagreb for R&R and he absolutely crushed it! It wasn't that everything was perfect, but I saw all the hours of study and practice come back to him and he taught clearly and powerfully. It was amazing seeing how far he's come and also seeing all the new missionaries and how much they each care about the people here and one another.
The other half of our preparation over the weeks has been focused on building our game night. We wanted to get to know the people here better and invite them to come have an experience at the church. (Backstory) Since we first got here, we have averaged 1 person a week at our game night. It was pretty sad, but we both felt strongly that there was so much potential here if we could just get it started. So we went to work. We've talked to lots of people everywhere we go, played volleyball, basketball, whiteboarding, and made lots of friends. Volleyball turned out to be the key and we ended up making tons of really good college friends on the courts over the past weeks. Long story "short", we went all out this week for game night, invited everyone, and 18 people came!!! Not just that, 18 good friends who we knew and loved. It was absolutely miraculous! Everyone had a blast and there were many miracles throughout the night where we and our members were able to teach, testify, and invite. (Can't wait to see where that all leads). At the end, once everyone had gone, Elder Saunders and I just stood there in awe and said a prayer of thanks.
So my answer is this: God can and will work miracles in the lives of His children. Nothing is too hard for him, even a stressful R&R or a struggling game night. If we imperfectly do our part the best we can, He will do what only He can do. He will work His miracles in our lives because He loves us. I know this to be true, and I know He will work miracles for you as well because He loves you. Be patient, endure well, and know that "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
Love you all!
Elder Neil
